Drawing of glup bottle opener on bottle

I made this simple bottle opener to end my struggles with opening stuck glue bottles. It provides plenty of leverage to open a stubborn glue cap.

The opener fits over the bottle cap. A lip on the inside slips under the neck of the cap. It's made from a 3/4 × 1 × 4" scrap of hardwood. I used a Forstner bit to drill two 3/4" holes to fit over the largest diameter of the cap. The first hole is a through-hole. The second hole stops to leave 1/4" of material. Using the centerpoint of the stopped hole as a reference, I drilled a 5/8" through-hole to fit around the neck of the bottle cap. A little cleanup with some files and sandpaper creates one of the handiest tools in my shop.
