What's the most popular size for cabinet door pulls?

I need to choose door handles (pulls) for the kitchen cabinets I'm making, but I'm concerned about the hardware looking dated 10 years from now. What can I do now to minimize problems when that time arrives?

Select a traditionally popular size, Rick, so replacements will be easy to find in the future. We'll wager that in a decade, 3" pulls (defined by the center-to-center distance between screw posts) will still be popular. Why? Amerock, a leading cabinet-hardware manufacturer, carries more than three dozen widths, ranging from 2¹⁄₂ " to nearly 19", but 3" pulls account for about 60% of today's total offerings. Come replacement time, if you can't find a 3" pull, look for one close to 3" and with wide or large "feet," such as that shown above, to cover the screw holes from the original pull.
